Dave Moutrey
Dave Moutrey has been Director of Cornerhouse since April 1998. Cornerhouse is Greater Manchester’s international centre for cinema and contemporary visual art where audiences, artists and filmmakers are brought together to experience and debate cultural practice and ideas through a unique programme that aims to stimulate, entertain and inform. During 2007 Cornerhouse presented an outstanding visual arts and film programme to the Greater Manchester with 3,850 cinema screenings, 9 exhibitions in the galleries and other public spaces and 271 education events and selling over 500,000 artists books.

 

He took the post at Cornerhouse after having worked as Director of Arts About Manchester for over six years, during which time he was also Director of Marketing for Manchester City of Drama 1994. Before working at AAM Dave Managed the Abraham Moss Centre Theatre in North Manchester. He is a qualified teacher and an artist and theatre producer who has worked on over 30 community productions with Greater Manchester based groups.

Internationally, he helped to establish an arts marketing consortium in Canberra, Australia during October 1994, has worked on international cultural tourism conferences in Prague, Graz and Amsterdam and presented papers at a number of conferences on arts marketing.

Dave is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts, a member of the Chartered Management Institute, BAFTA and ABTT. He is a Chair of the Millenium Quarter Development Trust (Urbis, Manchester), an advisor to AmBItion and Stage Exchange Yorkshire, and a Board Member of Manchester City South Partnership, Pilot Theatre and the Association of Independent Film Exhibitors.
