Dr Calvin Jones is a member of the Welsh Economy Research Unit at Cardiff Business School, and holds a PhD in the economics of tourism and sport. His research interests have focused around how activities, such as tourism, culture and sport relate to and impact upon both the economy and the physical environment, with a further focus on ‘mega events’.
His work on the development of Tourism Satellite Accounts and Tourism Environmental Accounts has been globally recognised. He is an expert attendee at the UN World Tourism Organisation’s Committee for the Statistical and Macroeconomic Measurement of Tourism and a committee member of the British and Irish Section of the Regional Science Association International.
